Dance Company

What is Dance Company?

 

Davis High's Dance Company is dance at the highest level at Davis High and is our most advanced performing company. Sanctioned under UDEO, Dance Company is run similar to a college-level dance performance program, with an emphasis on contemporary, jazz, and modern styles. Dance Company provides 10-15 quality performances throughout the year, including university program scholarship auditions, multiple opportunities for students to choreograph their own works, and trainings with professional dancers and choreographers. Placement in Dance Company is by audition only and requires advanced dance technique, training, and artistry. Dance Company at Davis High is a fast-paced environment, as dancers will learn up to 20 different pieces for our various performances, and requires a yearlong commitment. However, we seek a balance that allows students to also be involved in other extracurriculars and their private dance studios. We encourage our dancers to maintain studio training in conjunction with our Company so they can maximize these key growth years as a dancer. Dance Company has a committed culture of love, respect, hard work, responsibility, fun, and laughter.
